Hi guys and gals,
Im Big Jack from New Zealand.. I was an analog smoker for the last 29 years. Tried everything to quit, even Champix. It worked for a while but I eventually found myself craving again. I had tried vaping on the cartomiser ecigs a few years back but gave up after giving in to the cravings again and again.. This time my health scared me so bad I had to do something.. I wake up 4am every morning to get ready to go to work as a truck driver.. For the last four years Id been suffering from a serious lack of sleep… I was lucky to get 3 to 4 hours a night.. Eventually I wasn't able to sleep at all at night.. Yet during the day I was losing time while I was driving because I was nodding off behind the wheel.. This scared me enough to talk to my doctor.. He put me through a sleep clinic and found I was suffering from sleep apnea, but before I was able to go through the clinic, I had woke one morning as I always did.. Got ready for work and made my breakfast and sat in front of my computer.. I reached for my coffee and had a helluva pain hit me.. I became dizzy and nauseated.. The pain, was in my chest… It was so severe I could barely move.. I reached for the phone and rang the hospital and asked what should I do… Do I wait for my doctor's office to open or come to the ER? The lady on the phone asked if I had any way of checking my blood pressure.. Which luckily I did.. I had found a blood pressure monitor in some old yard sale stuff that still worked so I threw in a battery and tried it out… I told the lady this can't be right.. My blood pressure was 118/110… She said "call a fucking ambulance.." Her exact words… I was scared.. I didn't want to die yet I felt I was.. I got to the hospital my bp was 210/113.. They admitted me.. Gave me some nitro spray and a shot of morphine to kill the headache that came with it.. I vowed then and there I was giving up analogs… My will power isn't the strongest when it comes to those smelly little bastards so I had to have something to fall back on.. A friend had said to me "Get a mod".. Then explained what it was and where I could get one… Well, I got one.. An Eleaf 30w Istick after watching Indoorsmokers review I thought why not… Got the sub tank nano to go with it.. Bought a heap of juice and that was me started.. My last analog was 2 days after my 40th birthday in January this year.. We had a bbq and one of my best mates was having an analog.. I bummed one off him much to my gf's disgust.. But I lit it and nearly vomited.. Worst thing Ive ever tasted in my life… I will never ever go back to those smelly little bastards ever again.. This.. This is all thanks to vaping… And to the great and wonderful people Ive met through it.. I appreciate each and every vaper I meet in public and anywhere online.. Ive personally amounted a rather large collection of vape gear in the last 6 months and have been constantly buying or winning more gear.. As I get more gear I take my old gear and Pay it forward to an analog smoker to help them give up.. So far in 6 months… Ive converted 3 people off the analogs and onto vapes… I love vaping and how much its helped me improve my health. And the people Ive met are very much so, an added bonus…

Up until a week ago i smoked between half a pack and two packs a day. Smoked for about 7 years altogether. Three years ago i tried a joye 510t but it sucked. I would have to take both batteries and the charger with me everywhere i went. I ended up losing both batteries with atomizers at the bar and just went back to cigs. Now ive got a great setup with a couple different tanks and good juices. And who the hell said vaping is cheaper?! In the past week i have spent about 220 bucks on hardware and juice. Now im looking into making my own liquid. Vaping is a whole new sickness.

I was a smoker for 27 years. I smoked a pack to 2 packs per day. I averaged a pack and a half. I tried the Chantix and it didn't work. It just gave me vivid dreams. I barely cut down. I took a different route to my cigarette store one day and the vape shop was next door on the other side (there is a tall fence between the two stores so I didn't know it was there when I came in from the other direction). Anyway, I stopped in, and chatted with the guy about vaping. I still wasn't sure about it, but the next week I went back and bought my first vaporizer and ejuice. It was a Vision spinner and an evod like tank. I didn't buy enough batteries though so I still snuck a cigarette every now and then while my battery was charging. I went back and bought a couple more batteries. I ran out of ejuice over memorial day weekend and had to have a pack for that. Now I make sure I never run out of juice and buy extra if holidays or something is coming up.

I switched to a coolfire 1 recently and am not very happy with it. I get a little flavor, but it does satisfy my craving. I chain vape. I hope a new mod / tank will help there. Bottom line is that May 28th 2015 was the last day I have had an analog icky stick. I did not know a thing about vaping before. The only experience I had was with a cigalike that I got scammed on. I signed up for one of the subscriptions, unknowingly, but I promptly got out of it. They tasted like s*&t and I went back to cigarettes, which to me now taste like s*&t. I am feeling a lot better. I have been cig free for almost 5 weeks and I am loving it. Vaping is a great alternative to smoking. Sorry for the long post.

I started smoking at the age of 17 during my last year of high school. At first, I was smoking on occasions just to look cool in front of my friends. However, the smoking soon became a habit once I joined the military. I smoked cigarettes from 1983 until April of 2015, a total of 32 years. Throughout my adult years as a smoker, I tried quitting; but, I failed every time.

My first time in trying to quit happened when I was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation. While I was in the hospital, my doctor told me that I could no longer smoke. While in the hospital, I was put on a nicotine patch. The patch worked for a while, but after leaving the hospital I saw myself taking off the patch and smoking. This lasted for only a week when I returned to my daily smoking habits.

Between 2005 and 2009, I tried quitting cold turkey. That did not last. I was not ready to quit smoking. I also tried medication; in this case Chantix. However, the side effects of Chantix were too much for me. The side effects such as insomnia, crankiness, and the headaches were too much for me to handle. So, I kept on smoking.

In 2009, I had a heart attack, In the end, my doctor advised me that smoking was a contributing factor for the heart attack. My doctor also told me that if I wanted to live longer I needed to quit smoking. I told my doctor that I had tried everything to quit smoking, but nothing worked. My last resort, according to my doctor, was acupuncture. I knew that I had to quit smoking. However, mentally, I was not ready.

In March of this year (2015) I was in a cruise with my wife when I saw this guy "smoking from a box" ( a mod ). I asked him what it was, and he explained that he was vaping. He told me his story of how vaping helped him quit smoking. His story got my attention.

Once I got back to work, I researched everything about vaping. Everything I read led me to believe that it might just work with me. So, one weekend out of nowhere I asked my wife to search for a vape shop near where we were. I went into the shop, told my story to the owner, and he recommended a startup kit. I told myself that I had nothing to lose, except to just try. This was the last week of April of 2015. Since the day I visited my vape shop I can honestly say that that I am an EX-SMOKER. VAPING has saved my life.

Ever since I started vaping, I have experienced positive changes in my quality of life. First, my taste buds have returned, and my clothes do not smell like cigarettes. Now I can better enjoy my foods, drinks, and everything in between. Second, I can breath better. When I smoked, most of the times my nose was constantly stuffed up. Therefore, I had to be using nasal spray constantly to clear my nose. Ever since I started vaping, I have never used a nasal spray again.

Lastly, ever since I started vaping I have more energy. I can walk for miles without being short winded. I remember this past May when I took my students to Washington DC. My students wanted me to take them on a walking tour. So I did. By the time we got back to our dorms, we had walked over 18 miles. My students were exhausted, but I could have gone another 20 miles easily. I had the energy, which was something I did not have when I used to smoke.

As of today, August 23, 2015, I have not touched or smoked a cigarette. I don't want them, nor do I need them. I enjoy the freedom of vaping and all the benefits it brings.
Last month, I went to my quarterly doctor's visit. To my surprise, my blood work results were better than I had experienced in years: specifically, my sugar and cholesterol levels decreased dramatically. My doctor asked me if I was still smoking. With a smile on my face I told him: "NO. I am done with smoking." I explained to him how I replaced smoking with vaping. Then, with a smile on his face my doctor told me: "KEEP ON VAPING." So, that is exactly what I am doing.

I started smoking at 13 and have been a heavy smoker (1 1/2 – 2+ packs/day) for 16 years. I've tried basically every method to try quitting and failed pathetically every time. I've been vaping for a few months now and was having 2 or 3 cigarettes/day but now I stopped buying them and am 1 week without a cigarette with no signs of looking back. I love vaping I have several mods now and interestingly after seeing my success 2 of my friends quit smoking by vaping and my brother also. If that's not proof that it works then I don't know what is

I started smoking at 14 yrs ( a long time ago). Last month watching youtube I come across indoor smokers (Steve) reviewing a kangertech kbox. I went out and purchased one and have never touched a cig since. Use to have a pipe on Egypt when on holiday. It's amazing how you can do in with these latest mods. So pleased with my mod. Just testing out ejuicy now. So many out there.

Steve you the man. Love the reviews 12

2:30pm MST, Aug 16, 2015 I had my last Cig. Started smoking when I was 14 and had been a smoker for 39 years. Tried many times to quit but never got it right, a friend of mine started talking Vapes and being a computer nerd I was all over the vids, the reviews and all data I could get on the subject. To me it just seemed like the way to go, went to one of my local vape shops and started the road to vaping with the Subox Mini. A good starter kit and I haven't looked back since, it has only been 6 weeks so far but so far so good. Have got my youngest daughter and my wife now vaping and my house is now smoke free. Keep up the good work and keep the reviews coming. Thank you to you the vaping community as the support for this endeavor is unbelievable.

Hi guys,

I started smoking at the age of 15 and kept this up till 29th of august of this year , so I can say I'm one month cig free.
And it feels great I must say ! Honestly for the first time I'm sure I quit tobacco forgood.
My wife is still a smoker and I hope I can convert her to a vaper , 2 week ago I bought her an i stick 20 watt with a Nautilus mini tank and she only smokes 3 cigs a day now so she 's slowly getting in to it .
Luckily there are people like Chris,Tia and Phil Busardo who are devoted

Good afternoon all,

30 YR, 2 pack a day smoker. Smoked the last one 8/1/2015 after having lunch with a buddy who had started vaping 2 weeks before successfully without a cig. I though why not, and went to a local vape shop and picked up a EVOD 2 starter kit with a couple of bottles of juice. Since then I have moved on to my sub-Ohm tank with my 50W mod and 6mg nic ejuice.
Wish I had made the move years ago.

I started getting into Vaping about 2yrs ago didn't know a whole lot about mods and juices ect ect
A friend gave me a 15ml Bottle of Mothers Milk by Suicide Bunny at that point all I had was an Kanger Evod and Ego style Battery by SMOK with the Evod Tanks and Aero Tank Vaping at 2.00 ohms I knew if I could get more Vapor that Vaping that Mothers Milk E-Juice would cut the ties of Smoking completely.
So I bought a Sub-Ohm setup from Easy Vapor RI I havent Smoked in over 7 Months
For me it was the Extra Vapor and Throat Hit and great Flavor from the Sub Ohm Build that got me to quit for good and a bit of will power.

Now this post is one of the best posts I ever could make! I have been a member and moderator of this forum for about 2 and a half years, but I could not post in this thread because I was a smoker who was trying to quit. Well, I am happy to say that I can now post in this thread because today marks my 7th day of being smoke free!! It took me a long time to be able to reach this point and I can truly say that I could not have done it without ecigs! It feels so good to finally be able to call myself an ex smoker, it was a rocky road but looks like I made it. So here is my story:

I have been smoking for about 35 years, I started smoking when I was 15. Started probably like most smokers did, started because some friends were smoking and I wanted to be part of the crowd. I did manage to quit smoking in my early 20's, quit for 2 years but wound up going back. Back in 2009, I lost my Dad to lung cancer, he smoked his whole life. I watched him suffer for 7 years with lung cancer and watched it take him from the strong man that I called Dad to just a fraction of the man he actually was. Losing him, broke my heart! 6 months later, I wound up losing my dog to some form of cancer as well. In December of 2009, I was at my local smoke shop to pick up my carton of smokes as usual and saw that they had the new electronic cigarette. The kit was just a cig-a-like kit with one battery and 2 cartidges and they also sold some refill cartridges. and it was really expensive. I slid outside and called my mother who was wanting to quit smoking as well and asked her if she wanted one. So I walked out of there with 2 ecig kits and 2 packs of refills. I was excited to try it and hopefully use it to quit smoking. Got home charged it up and couldn't wait to get my first taste of an ecig. I was let down horribly, the battery sucked, lasted only 20 minutes before needing to charge another 2 and a half hours. The cartridges were horrible, they spit juice in your mouth and only a tiny wisp of vapor. The carts also only lasted a few hours before needing to be replaced. I gave up on ecigs and continued to smoke. My mother was more determined to quit and actually bought some cig-a-likes from a drug store and she managed to quit. In early 2012, I heard about Blu Cig and how they were supposed to be much better than all the others. I picked up a kit and started to vape, this time not expecting to totally quit immediately, but cut down gradually. The blu cig was way better than the original kit that I bought but still not what would get me off of cigarettes. I started to try other ecigs, went with V2, found out I was allergic to PG and I was starting to get frustrated but still determined to find something to help me quit smoking. I found Chris from his reviews and low an behold the forum was started. I moved on to ego's and even got my first mod, the Vamo V1. All of those were good, but I was still fighting quitting smoking. Over the last couple of years, I have picked up all kinds of mods and tanks and eliquid, but still resisted taking that last step.

This year, I said it was going to be the year!! 2016 was going to be the year that I finally did it. I never set a date, but figured I would just do it when I was ready. Well this past weekend for Father's Day, I decided that this would be the date. I had to wake my Dad on Father's Day in 2009 and I wanted to do this for him and for myself. I I started out the weekend without any cigarettes at all. Monday at work was one of the toughest days ever, and one that I thought would break me, but I kept on fighting the urges all day and made it through. Days 4 and 5 were also still very hard, but determined at this point, I survived those too. Day 6 is when it got a little easier and day 7 was even easier. I still struggle with urges, but I now know that I can beat this! So I write this today after being smoke free for one full, entire week!!

To anyone reading this, I think Chris summed it up best in one of his videos. Quitting smoking with ecigs doesn't make it not suck, but it does make it suck alot less! Don't ever give up, don't let failures stop you from trying to quit. Do it at your own pace and eventually, you will have the strength to finally do it too. Sad that we have these deeming regs ahead of us, my only hope is that we can beat those regs and ecigs can save more lives!

I am not and have never been in this for money, fame, or anything else. I have always been a part of vaping for one reason and that was to quit smoking and help others along the way!! Now I know that if I can do it, anyone can do it! That is what this forum is all about, it is a group of people who share one goal and that goal is to have and to help others finally give up the nasty habit of smoking and gain their life back through vaping. I am so proud of myself, I never thought I could do it, but determination is the key. Just remember, ecigs don't make it not suck when quitting, but they help it suck a whole lot less!

That's a nice story with a happy ending that hopefully lasts .
As I read the different stories here , quiting tobacco is very different for everybody. I believe it is also a state of mind . I also smoked for 30+ years , even a fair amount of the green ones in my twenties . Till last year august 29 th 2015 when I saw an old review about a vamo v6 with a nautilus mini , picked up this set and never had a cig since that day .
Anyway Steve glad to see you left the dark side . Keep it up buddy

Just an update, it has now been 15 months smoke free for me! Not even one slip up! This would not have been possible without vaping!! 35 years of smoking and so many failures of trying to finally quit and I am amazed as I sit here being 15 months smoke free. I still have to say that even after 15 months, I get tested whenever things get really stressful but I find it easier and easier to say no to cigarettes. I hope that anyone reading this forum will get one message, don't give up! Even if vaping doesn't get you to quit immediately, give it time and don't ever give up. It took a long time for me to reach this, but if you keep your eye on the prize, it will eventually come!

I see so many new members joining, share those stories! We need more people to read the success stories of vaping!
